  1st  Annual Golf Marathon

Dear Golfer:

The Hands of Hope USA Board Members are thrilled to have you play in our 1st   Annual Hands of Hope USA Golf Marathon on October 28, 2019! We thought a brief update was in order to help you along in your preparation for the Marathon. Once again, we want to thank you for your commitment to this great event.

 Business items:

  1. It is critical that you bring your Golf Marathon Event Guide with completed sponsorship information to the Marathon. (Our goal is $2,500 per golfer.) Also, bring any pledges you may have already received to the Marathon. Please do not forget these items.

  2. Following the Marathon, we will send your sponsors a letter including your total holes played and their actual pledge amount. It is very crucial for every name, address, and phone number to be complete. Please go over your book the night before and check each pledge information. WRITE CLEARLY. Once payment is received a “Thank You Letter” will be sent to each donor as well as information for their tax-deductible donation.

  3. Please find someone who can caddy for you if you like (spouse, friend, etc.) This person will drive your cart, help you play faster, encourage you, explain how wonderful you are, pick up thrown clubs, etc.

 Event Schedule:

Hands of Hope USA Golf Marathon on October 28, 2019

8:00 a.m. Players arrive at Woodside Plantation Country Club. Passes will be called into the gates as you enter Woodside Plantation and the gate can provide directions to the Clubhouse.

8:10 a.m. A light breakfast will be provided (doughnuts, coffee).

8:15 a.m. Instructions for the day are explained while you are finishing up your breakfast.

Players are reminded that they do not have to swim 2 miles in the ocean, ride a bike 100 miles, or run a Marathon. They simply have to play golf for 9 hours. Also, rules will be reviewed for those planning to cheat.

8:30 a.m. Players mount their carts and ride off into the morning sunrise to the appointed hole to begin play. 11:30 a.m. Players meet at Par 3 closest to the Club House for “Closest to the Pin” contest.

11:55 a.m. Group picture is made prior to returning to the clubhouse for lunch, door prizes, etc. 6:00 p.m. Play ends.

Again, we certainly appreciate your commitment and are looking forward to serving and encouraging you. If this incredible letter has not answered all your questions or if you have problems finding Woodside Plantation Country Club, please call Ginger Keenan at (803) 522-2622.

Hoping all your putts stay on the green.
