Growing up I had the privilege of going to a Christian Camp every summer. My favorite time was the Missionary Walk. We would all follow a real missionary, who was home on furlough, for about a mile hike and then sit down on the ground and listen to real stories about what happened to the missionaries in the country where they worked. My favorite missionaries were from Africa. They were great storytellers, and I would picture myself right there with them as they told us about the people, the animals, and the challenges that they faced. I would feel the heat of the summers with no rain, and then feel the hunger of the children who had barely enough food for one meal a day. I would live in the one room hut along with several others, and then sleep with them on a mat placed on the ground. I would get up in the morning and put on the same clothes and then struggle through another day. These children didn’t even have a school. (I did enjoy dreaming about no school!) Walking back to the camp and sitting down at a table filled with food, drink, and loads of dessert made me realize how blessed I was to live in America and have so much! I wanted to help, but didn’t know how.
Little did I realize at that time that the Lord was preparing me to be able to help. I enjoyed 54 years of evangelism and pastoral ministry and resigned after 25 years at my last church. That was the church where God called a precious lady (one of the busiest ladies I have ever met), to begin a ministry to the people in Zambia, Africa. She asked me to be the Field Representative for the ministry and share the story, especially to churches. It all began 4 years ago, in 2017, and WOW, how the Lord has blessed!! This ministry is called Hands of Hope. As I look back I see God was preparing me by developing my understanding of missions, and letting me speak in hundreds of churches that I am now calling on to help us in Africa.

“I want to update you on the ongoing activities at the school. Even in the midst of this pandemic, children and parents have expressed their hearts in appreciation the great and marvelous work you’re rendering in their daily lives by supporting their education and physical needs.
This week I had time to interact with learners at school reminding them on how they should protect themselves against this Covid 19 by regularly washing their hands, keeping social distance, and avoiding unnecessary movements from their respective areas. And also assuring them that we’re always committed in their day to day routines as they aim high to achieve their goals. The following are pictures of the children washing hands and lining up to get their fever checked.”
Our Goal is to give Moses an operation.
Moses is 12 years old and has a hard time walking, because he has a club foot. He is very committed to church and he walks a mile to get there every time the doors are open. He lives with his single mama, and is a very good boy. Please pray for Hands of Hope to be able to arrange surgery to correct his foot and to have the money to fund it,
